LLEN Members heading to the PETAA 2025 Conference this October

LLEN will be well represented at the upcoming PETAA conference: Teaching Writing: Purpose, Meaning and Pleasure to be held at the Mercure Gold Coast Resort 23-24th October and online.

LLEN members and PETAA authors presenting at the conference include Helen Harper, Damon Thomas, Jo Rossbridge, Brett Healey, Cindy Valdez, and Pauline Jones. Over the two days of the conference, they will address a range of topics related to writing instruction such as the reading-writing relationship, high-achieving students’ writing practices, grammar for purposeful writing, explicit teaching and the writing process, vocabulary instruction for EALD learners and structuring the writing program.

These presentations will be an excellent opportunity to see how functional language theory informs classroom literacy practice, particularly the teaching of writing.
